Territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta’an Kwäch’än Council, Whitehorse, YT The Yukon NDP announced Dario Paola as a candidate for nomination in Porter Creek South on Tuesday, June 17.

Paola has been involved with Liberal campaigns across Canada since 2014, believing they shared a value for the common good, but found that the Liberals failed to prioritize people’s needs.

Disappointed by the lack of action on important issues like housing, healthcare, and environmental protection — challenges that have persisted and grown over the last 25 years — Paola is stepping forward to bring a people-centred approach back to government.

“The status quo is broken, and we need creative and ambitious plans from a government that will deliver on its promises. That’s why I’m running with Kate White and the Yukon NDP,” Paola said.

“Over the past four years, Kate White and the Yukon NDP have held to their values and delivered concrete action for Yukoners. They have achieved so much with only three MLAs. Imagine what we could do in government.”

Yukon NDP Leader Kate White said, “Dario is a champion for housing, affordability, and for positive social change. I’m so excited to have him join our team. We hear from people all the time who have been let down by this Liberal government, and I want them to know there is room in our movement for people like Dario.”
