Aviation Worker, Franco-Yukoner Justin Ziegler to seek Yukon NDP Nomination in Riverdale South

WHITEHORSE – Justin Ziegler, an aviation worker and Franco-Yukoner, announced he is seeking the Yukon NDP nomination for Riverdale South for the 2025 territorial election.

“Like so many people in the territory, I knew the Yukon was home as soon as I arrived,” said Ziegler. “I’ve worked every day since to give back to communities across the Yukon. That’s why I’m proud to run alongside Kate and the Yukon NDP. Together, our team will invest in our territory to make life better for Yukoners.”

Ziegler currently works with Alkan Air connecting pilots with Yukoners in need of air ambulance services.

At Alkan Air, Ziegler also helped establish a new remote flight school as the Executive Director of Northerners Taking Flight. He partnered with Ross River Dena and Daylu Dena Councils to train the next generation of Yukon pilots, creating opportunities for Kaska students close to home.

Ziegler has spent years serving the Yukon’s growing Francophone community as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Association Franco-Yukonnaise (AFY), where he has supported the organization and hosted local radio shows across the territory. Additionally, as the co-founder of ZGB Productions, a local artist collective, Ziegler has created new opportunities for Yukon artists in French and English.

Ziegler also serves as a board member of the Yukon Imagination Library, which supports literacy for young Yukoners, sending books each month to hundreds of children in every community.

“For so many different communities, Justin has stepped up to make life better for Yukoners,” said Leader of the Yukon NDP Kate White. “He has always given back to our territory, and I know he’ll do the same with our team, as a Yukon NDP government.”
