The Yukon Party just rolled back housing protections for thousands of Yukoners

Any day now, the Yukon Party government will pass legislation to eliminate rent control and allow for no-cause evictions.

This will be devastating for renters.

The government has provided Yukoners with no evidence that these changes will improve housing availability or affordability, while ignoring the support shown for rent control in the 2024 Residential Landlord and Tenant Act review.

Instead, the Yukon Party is making ideological choices that put the housing of thousands of Yukoners at risk.

So I’m asking for help again: show your support for Yukon renters by sending an email to Minister Bellmore, urging her and the Yukon Party government to show you the evidence and to stop Bill 8.
