Ahead of the upcoming territorial election, the Leader of the Yukon NDP Kate White has announced four more Yukoners are running with her team in ridings across the Yukon.

“Our Yukon NDP candidates are a team people can count on,” said Yukon NDP Leader Kate White. “They are nurses, entrepreneurs, community leaders and tradespeople who know firsthand the challenges Yukoners are facing. Every one of them is ready to work hard for their neighbours, to deliver better healthcare and lower costs for you and your families.”

In Porter Creek Centre, the Yukon NDP has announced Hilary Smith, a Registered Nurse who has cared for Yukoners for a decade. Hilary has spent years connecting her patients to the support they need, including cancer care, community health and harm reduction. Hilary has advocated for more support for fellow healthcare workers, having served as the Chair of the Yukon Registered Nurses Association Nursing Practice Committee. Now, she is running to make healthcare better for every Yukoner.

In Porter Creek North, the Yukon NDP has announced Chris Dunbar, a lifelong Yukoner and leader in the skilled trades. Chris is a red-seal certified heavy equipment technician and carpenter, and currently works as a Manager for Mechanical Operations with the Yukon Government. Chris has created countless opportunities for more Yukoners to join the skilled trades. He has served as a judge with Skills Canada and has worked with the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum to support more women and newcomers to work in the trades.

In Southern Lakes, the Yukon NDP has announced Tip Evans, a Master Corporal in the Carcross Canadian Rangers, former Heritage Director for Teslin Tlingit Council and Manager of the George Johnston Museum. Tip has lived in the riding for 20 years. He takes pride in serving his community, having managed the award-winning restoration of the Freddie and Nina Johnson House, managing five Ha Kusteeye celebrations and volunteering with the Yukon Quest. He currently lives on the shores of the Teslin River with his wife, Pat.

In Copperbelt South, the Yukon NDP has announced Robin Reid-Fraser, a born and raised Yukoner and tradesperson. Robin has worked as a millwright and now trains the next generation of Yukon workers as Program Coordinator with Yukon Women in Trades and Technology (YWITT). Deeply rooted in her community, Robin was raised in Copperbelt South, and lives there to this day.
