Lane Tredger is the Yukon NDP MLA for Whitehorse Centre. They serve as the critic for Housing, Environment, the Yukon Energy Corporation and the Yukon Development Corporation.
Tredger was first elected in 2021, receiving 47% of the popular vote in Whitehorse Centre.
In their four years as an MLA, they won protections for workers and renters to lower costs for
Yukoners, including an increase to the minimum wage, creating 5 new paid sick days for workers and modernizing the Residential Landlord Tenant Act.
As energy critic, they fought to protect Yukoners from rate increases, appearing as an intervenor at the Utility Board hearings when ATCO Electric Yukon requested rate increases despite earning record profits. Neither the Yukon Party nor the Liberals showed up as intervenors.
With downtown neighbours and families across Whitehorse, Tredger led the fight for a downtown elementary school. In their first year as an MLA, Tredger passed a new law creating safer schools for 2SLGBTQIA+ students.
Tredger is a lifelong Yukoner. Since returning to the Yukon after graduating from Dalhousie University and McGill University, they have worked as the Executive Director of a local non-profit and as a speech language pathologist supporting young children and their families.
