Kwanlin Dün First Nation Councillor Linda Moen to seek Yukon NDP Nomination in Mountainview
August 14, 2025

Territories of Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta’an Kwäch’än Council, Whitehorse, Yukon — Kwanlin Dün First Nation Councillor Linda Moen announced she is seeking the Yukon NDP nomination for Mountainview for the 2025 territorial election.
“I was raised with the value of stepping up and serving our community to make life better,” said Moen. “It is the reason I’m serving as a councillor with KDFN, and it is the same reason I’m running to serve as Mountainview’s next MLA. When I think about which party aligns with the value of serving others, the choice is clear: it’s Kate White and the Yukon NDP.”
Since being elected to KDFN council in 2023, Moen has delivered results — creating more jobs for young people, building dozens of new housing units and making the community safer for families. She worked together with women’s organizations and the RCMP to make the territory safer, serving as the negotiator for the historic agreement, Together for Safety.
Moen led the creation of the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre in her role as Chair of the Board of Governors for Kwanlin Dün First Nation. She has worked as a public servant for the Government of Canada for 20 years, where she took on leadership positions at the Public Service Alliance of Canada and was a founding member of the Yukon Indigenous Peoples Committee, which remains active today.
For 6 years, Moen served the community as a member of the Elijah Smith School Board. A longtime Mountainview resident, Moen raised her family in the community she still proudly calls home.
“We are so excited to welcome Linda to our team. In everything she’s done, Linda puts Yukoners first,” said Leader of the Yukon NDP Kate White. “As a councillor, she’s delivered serious results and brought people together, and we know she’ll do the same for Yukoners across Mountainview and the territory as part of an NDP government.”
